The Angel Inn was situated on the
Market Place and is now used as council offices.
This pub was present by 1828 when the publican was Sarah Walkden. The former
coaching inn was originally one-storey building with origins in the 16th
century. In the late 19th century, alterations included the upper storey and
new facade. It closed in 1989. |
